A Free Amber Alert for Lost Pets- Tech Innovation
That’s right! There is now an Amber Alert for lost pets exclusively on the Pet24Care app. We are looking to reconnect lost animals with their rightful owners.
When you lose a pet, you are in a state of panic. You go on Google for directions but google hits you back with a gazillion tips. Let’s be honest, the situation is already traumatizing and having to post on different Facebook groups, call shelters and vets, check various sites, make posters, and jump between Facebook groups for updates, it’s a lot to juggle.
The good news is that Pet24Care is here to make a change with an innovative solution. What is it you may ask? We’re here to join the pet community together and create a one-stop shop that connects the different channels mentioned above into one. This is where everyone including animals lovers, shelters, and vets can post on the Pet24Care lost and found to help the fur babies find their ways back home.
Learn how it all works down below.
Pet Lost & Found: How Does It Work?
If You Have Lost a Pet
Step 1: First, click on more, then proceed to click on the ”+” icon on the top right-hand corner.
Step 2: Click on ” I lost a pet” and fill out the missing pet’s information. For the visible identification mark, please enter as many features of your pet as possible. For example, spots on the left ear, white and brown fur, etc. These identifiers will help the algorithm create tags so that when there’s a match, you will be notified immediately.
Step 3: When you click on ”Place”, you will be taken to a google map. This is where you can enter the place where you lost your animal or drop a pin of the location. If someone spotted your dog via the pin drop, both you and the person that found your pet will be notified through the app.
Note: People can either leave messages on your posting or directly contact you through the Pet24Care app messenger.
If You Have Found Some’s Pet
Step 1: Click on ”more” and proceed to ”Lost and Found” then click on ”I found a pet”.
Step 2: Enter as much information as you can about the pet you have found. The more identification marker you’ve entered, the more likely is it for their owners to be matched and notified.
Note: People may leave comments under your posting, and they can also message you by using the Pet24Care in-app messenger.
If You Have an Animal Sighting without the Animal
Let’s say, if you have spotted a Chihuahua on 19th street but cannot approach the dog, you may simply post under “I found a pet” and put as much information as you can in the identifier marker column. You may click on ”place” and drop a pin of where you saw the dog. By doing so, any chihuahua owners that have reported their pet as lost will be notified.
Amber Alert: How Does It Work?
Amber alert is the last-ditch resort for pet parents to find their pets. All Amber alerts have to be approved by a Pet24Care admin. However, it won’t take long as these alerts are reviewed by our admin right away. When you send an alert request, you may chose the range of the alert. Let’s say, if you choose a 15 km radius, this means that every Pet24Care user within a 15km radius of where you lost your pet will receive a notification with your pet’s info and your contact information. If someone spots your dog but cannot approach it, they can drop a pin on the google map in which you will be notified, or comment on your posting to let you know. By getting this information, it can help minimize the search area.
There you have it! Pet24Care is using AI solutions to help put smiles back on pet parents’ faces. It’s a free app and the functions are free to use. We need the community to come together and join us on this amazing journey! Spread the word.
